Day 17 –  Lockerbie to beattock

Sometimes one feels one has bitten off more than one can chew. It was a tough day today. We had wind, cold, rain, 2 film shoots, my leg injury and a breakage in the all important trolley.

But I spent the day with a lovely small group. We bodged the trolley, we satisfied the film people, we battled through the rain and gradients and finally got to the primary school where Clarion was to spend the night. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the door to open.

All sorted now, but I’m not looking forward to 14 miles in continuous rain tomorrow. It looks like I’ll be on my own on a minor road right next to the motorway.

I don’t think I’ll be walking to COP27 next year in Alexandria (Egypt) !

Goodnight old friend

Clarion is a very modern bear. He's active on social media and would be happy if you would follow him.

Up to date information about Clarion's progress is on the Facebook page where there are also links to WhatsApp groups for each day (in the Events tab) . You'll find invitation links for each day so you can find out where Clarion is, see who else is meeting where, and what time he's expected to arrive at points on the way.

He also has a phone: 07432 137 034 so if you need to find out where he is en route, this is the number to call.

He also has a second phone to cover another network area, so feel free to call this one if the first one doesn't work: 07932958959
