WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
To track exactly where Clarion is at any moment, use the button below. You’ll find a Live Tracking option for the day in the WhatsApp link.
Meeting up
Please arrive at 8:15 for a quick chat before we set off.
We will leave at 8:30, you will have to run to catch up!
Please don’t bring small children, dogs, or alcohol.
Getting home
Plan how you are going to get back home at the end of the walk, perhaps a car share with others and a non walking friend driving to collect you.
Staying safe
You are doing this at your own risk so:
Make sure you are safe at all times
Make sure everyone else is safe at all times
Make time for the public ~ as long as they do not hold us up
You can leave at anytime
Bearing the bear
If you’re willing to help carry Clarion for a short while, that would be great. He ain’t heavy and there will be four of us carrying him – one on each corner of his palaquin. Bearers will change places every half an hour or sooner.
Respect & Accept
Respect the Bear
Respect drivers, who we will be inconveniencing
Respect each other
Be accepting of everything ~ the rain, the rudeness of some people, the gradients
We are all crew
Being present
It would be good if you could refrain from making phone calls, and texting all day.
Save the stories to tell at the end of the day. It will be a day to remember.
What to bring
Walking boots + spare socks (maybe spare trainers, if you do not have faith in your boots or feet!)
Appropriate clothing ~ removable layers.
Waterproofs.
Hat, gloves, neck buff.
Water bottle
Lunch and fruit and snacks, plenty of snacks ~ you will deserve them.
Sun glasses
Camera?
Make sure your phone is charged
Any medication that you need: an inhaler, pills, maybe some foot plasters.
Kindness always kindness
