Day 20–  Douglas to Strathaven

I started the day with dry clothing, boots and kit. Not for long though. Persistent rain all day with the back roads under an inch of water in places.

The worse thing was the strong winds – oh and also the gradients, frozen hands and wet feet. 16 miles of it. Done. I did it.

Now just a day and a half to go. Kusumeh and I spent hours this evening sorting out the detail of the next three days.

And I may have some company tomorrow which will be lovely after the last three days.

My friend lifted my spirits in the evening too. Film maker Nick Edwards has made a beautiful and moving film inspired by Dorothea’s song. We posted this wonderful song about Clarion a few days ago and are hugely grateful to Dorothea Linder for the lyrics and composer Jo Collins for the music.  Watch to the end!

Clarion is a very modern bear. He's active on social media and would be happy if you would follow him.

Up to date information about Clarion's progress is on the Facebook page where there are also links to WhatsApp groups for each day (in the Events tab) . You'll find invitation links for each day so you can find out where Clarion is, see who else is meeting where, and what time he's expected to arrive at points on the way.

He also has a phone: 07432 137 034 so if you need to find out where he is en route, this is the number to call.

He also has a second phone to cover another network area, so feel free to call this one if the first one doesn't work: 07932958959
