day 4 – Bulkely to Kingsley
Each day when the helpers have gathered, we start with a dedication. It begins:
Respect the Bear. Respect drivers, who we are inconveniencing. Respect each other…
And it ends:
So now let’s take a moment to remember why we’re here. Let’s remember our love for this beautiful planet which feeds, nourishes and sustains us. Let’s remember our our love for the whole of humanity in all corners of the world. Let’s think about our sincere desire to protect this earth for ourselves, for all living beings and for generations to come. As we act today, may we find the courage to bring a sense of peace, love and appreciation for everyone we encounter, to every word we speak and to every action we make.
We are here for all of us. Kindness, always kindness.
There hasn’t been a day yet on this pilgrimage when I haven’t delighted in new friendships, interesting conversations, jokes and kindness from the people helping. And in the amazement, joy and bafflement of people seeing a giant sculpture of a polar bear in their neighbourhood.
Today was only 14 miles on back roads with the trolley. Easy!
