day 5 – Kingsley to Rainhill

The generosity of strangers…

This bizarre mission I have set myself – getting Clarion to Cop 26 – is an experience of a lifetime. I am continuously knocked over by people’s generosity.

Yesterday afternoon we hadn’t sorted out a bed for the night, for me or for Clarion, then someone walking with us rang and friend and asked and Hey Presto! A bed and supper were offered, and my hosts, Steve  and Alex spent hours ringing all their friends and asking them to join me today.

This evening we were also unsure where I would lay my head and a lovely woman who stopped in order to give me a donation, offered me hospitality.

Today we walked with the Bear standing  and crossed the Runcorn Bridge. Maybe the first time a polar bear has crossed the Mersey?

Clarion is a very modern bear. He's active on social media and would be happy if you would follow him.

Up to date information about Clarion's progress is on the Facebook page where there are also links to WhatsApp groups for each day (in the Events tab) . You'll find invitation links for each day so you can find out where Clarion is, see who else is meeting where, and what time he's expected to arrive at points on the way.

He also has a phone: 07432 137 034 so if you need to find out where he is en route, this is the number to call.

He also has a second phone to cover another network area, so feel free to call this one if the first one doesn't work: 07932958959
