Day 8 –  Lostock Hall to Garstang

This was the first wet day and we had to walk along the A6 from Preston to Garstang with the traffic swishing past us for hours. In the wet those tyres are very loud.

A varying, smallish group of pilgrims slogged along with us. And Barry is back! He joined us for Day 2 and is now back again for days 8, 9 and 10. It’s a pleasure having him – he isn’t a stalker!

This afternoon we were invited to the Garstang Quaker meeting house for tea and a rest. We were very grateful to be in such a splendidly austere and welcoming meeting room.

Clarion is staying the night at St Thomas’s Primary School and tomorrow I will give a short talk to some of the children about this Climate Crisis Pilgrimage.

Clarion is a very modern bear. He's active on social media and would be happy if you would follow him.

Up to date information about Clarion's progress is on the Facebook page where there are also links to WhatsApp groups for each day (in the Events tab) . You'll find invitation links for each day so you can find out where Clarion is, see who else is meeting where, and what time he's expected to arrive at points on the way.

He also has a phone: 07432 137 034 so if you need to find out where he is en route, this is the number to call.

He also has a second phone to cover another network area, so feel free to call this one if the first one doesn't work: 07932958959
